Vero Beach, FL (June 1, 2021) – At least one person lost their life in a fatal accident on Monday, May 31. At approximately 8:17 p.m., police and paramedics were called to assist at the scene of the wreck.
According to officials, the collision took place on Highway A1A near the Dunes under unclear circumstances. Officers with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office along with EMTs were observed assisting at the crash site.
Sources state that the wreck was fatal in nature, though the total number of deceased victims has not been reported to the public at this time. The police in Vero Beach continue to investigate the details of the accident.
The highway was closed in both directions while crews worked to secure the scene. Traffic delays resulted in the area for some time.
