Plantation, FL (August 30, 2021) – A woman lost her life after she was hit by a car while riding her bike in Plantation in the early hours of Monday, August 30. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m., according to reports.
Authorities stated that the wreck occurred in the 500 block of North University Drive near Our Savior Lutheran Church for reasons still being investigated. A 20-year-old named Monel Rivera from Tamarac was riding her bike when she was struck by a 2003 Toyota.
The victim was transported to a local medical center where she later succumbed to her injuries and passed away, according to information from various sources. The driver who struck her sustained no injuries in the wreck.
