Key Biscayne Bicycle Collisions
Sadly, Florida bicycle collisions occur at an alarming rate. Millions of people are drawn to the Sunshine State every year to enjoy all of the perks our state has to offer. Unfortunately, with more people present, more traffic accidents can take place. Information provided by Smart Growth America states that Florida’s pedestrian danger index is one of the highest in the United States.
Florida ranks number one out of twenty states that were examined based on how life-threatening traveling by foot or on a bike can be. This information was based on the number of pedestrians who have been hit by cars and killed in the area. From the months of January to June in 2019, nearly 400 people were killed due to Florida pedestrian crashes, a percentage of them bicyclists. These statistics prove that Florida is one of the most dangerous states for pedestrian/bicycle travel.
