Bicycle Accidents in Miami

Millions of people are drawn here yearly to enjoy all of the perks our state has to offer. Unfortunately, with more people, sadly, comes more traffic accidents. Florida’s pedestrian danger index is one of the highest in the United States, according to recent information provided by Smart Growth America. States and metropolitan areas throughout the country were ranked on how life-threatening it is for people to walk or ride bikes instead of drive. This information was based on the number of people who have been hit by cars and killed in the area. Florida ranks number one out of the twenty states that were examined. In 2019, from January to June, almost 400 people were killed due to Florida pedestrian crashes, a percentage of them bicyclists. These statistics prove that Florida is one of the most dangerous states for pedestrian/bicycle travel.
