Wilton Manors, FL (June 20, 2021) – A fatal accident took the life of one person and seriously injured one other on June 19 in Wilton Manors.
The wreck took place on Saturday evening when two men were run over by a pickup truck at a pride parade. The parade was located near Wilton Drive and 16th Street, according to reports.
Both men were transported to Broward Health Medical Center where one was later pronounced deceased. The other man currently remains at Broward Health and is expected to survive.
The driver said that his foot got stuck between the gas pedal and the brake, according to information from officials. The vehicle was in line with several other vehicles and floats waiting to begin the parade.
The reason the tragic collision occurred remains under investigation by police in Wilton Manors. The pride parade was canceled as a result of the accident. The victims have not been identified at this time.
